The curtain came down on the Bees season with a home game (at Titwood) against Glasgow Accies 3rd XI ( Alps ). Skipper Gordon Barbour lost the toss and the Bees were asked to bowl. Alps scored 258 off their 50 overs, aided by 54 extras…and a fluent 96 from opener Sharma. For the Bees, there were wickets for Humza Sher (1), Neil Fulton (1), Lucky Singh (2), Umair Chaudhry (1), Josh Bawa (1) and skipper Gordon (2). And credit must also go to Raphael Selby for agreeing to take the gloves at short notice (like 12:59 before the 13:00 start) and for only conceding a few byes in his debut as a keeper!
The backbone of the reply was a 73-run third-wicket partnership between Humza and Rohail Gilani. Humza top scored with 47 and Rohail made 24. Unfortunately, only two other batters made double figures and Bees were 144 all out.
