Clydesdale had 5 players playing for South Glasgow U13s at Whitehaugh, against Clyde U13s.
Clyde chose to bat and were quickly in trouble at 5/2 with both wickets falling to Ross Bain (caught by Poloc’s Lewis James and caught by Ross Duckett). Skipper Andrew Hume had a bowl but didn’t have any luck, Owain Taylor returned the very tidy figures of 3-1-2-1 and Calum Stout chipped in with 2 run outs (in 3 balls) before Ross returned to pick up his 3rd wicket. Clyde 62 all out.
The South Glasgow batting order was changed slightly (largely to get Poloc’s Kess Sajjad and Ross Bain a bat). Ross opened and batted sensibly for his 7 (off 30 balls) before chasing a wide one and getting caught behind. Andy made 8 (off 15 balls) before being cleaned up by left-armer Currie…and suddenly South Glasgow were 29/5. But Calum Stout batted very well and top scored with 15 (30 balls). After Poloc’s Akhil Ahmed was run out with the score on 46/6, it was a sensible and technically quite good knock from Goosey (honestly…there was even a straight drive for 4 in it!) that made things safe. Calum did get out but Goosey ended the game with another straight drive (yes, really) for 2. Goosey 11* (off 15 balls). South Glasgow 63/7.
Ross Bain 4.1-1-11-3 and 7.
Andrew Hume 4-0-10-0 and 8.
Owain Taylor 3-1-2-1 and DNB.
Calum Stout DNB and 15.
Ross Duckett DNB and 11*
