U11/2 and U15/6 Winter Training Begins
Sunday 13th January saw the remaining 2 age groups commence their winter training programmes. Following on from the U13/4 age group last week, the U11/2 training ran from 2pm-4pm and the U15/6 age group from 3.30pm-6pm. Both training sessions took place at Hutchesons' Sportshall.
The U11/2 session was led by Steve Taylor. Turnout was slightly disappointing - largely to the illness of many who would have attended. A couple of basic drills were followed by a Lords' Game and a mini indoor pairs game. Thanks to assistant coaches Andrew Allan, Craig Lindsay and Mark Williams.
The U15/6 session was split. The 30 minute "classroom" session saw the squad attempt to complete a field placing and scoring challenge. The session then moved into the main hall where a warm-up was followed by an
adaptation of the Lords' Game and then a net. Thanks to Haroon Sher for leading the session and to Andrew Allan, Tim Hart and Mark Williams for their assistance.
With all 3 age groups having had their refresher sessions, the real work starts now! |
